I’m not an expert in finances by any means. I just wanted to share some things that have really saved us a lot of stress and money the past few years.
My husband and I scraped by enough to get out of debt and have an emergency fund just in time for me to get pregnant. We’re so thankful we did! The next season was rocky with several lost jobs, extra bills, getting robbed, and preparing for a baby.
God’s really provided for us! Not just food and basic clothes to wear. More importantly, he’s provided the healing and wisdom to be able to waste less and live more.
Definitely seek God when you’re in a financial rut! He knows exactly what’s going on and how to fix it. You can trust him always!
This class is a definite MUST!! Check to see if there’s one going on in your area and do everything possible to attend! It will change your life. If you’re married, I highly recommend attending it together.
Hey, it’s free! If you just can’t make it to Financial Peace University, then this is the next best option. Get a different perspective about how money and economy really works. Plus you may find advice really close to your situation that would help a lot.
ELP stands for “Endorsed Local Providers.” It’s FREE!! They help you find the BEST insurances for the LOWEST prices. We saved so much money! They even applied for insurance for us to save us the headache. We got new car insurance, renters insurance, and health insurance at their recommendation. I don’t know how they find such amazing deals but I’m glad they do!
I. LOVE. Everydollar! You can log on with your computer but it is also an app on your phone. Each purchase appears as a “bubble” that you can drag into any category. Done!
After Chris and I got married, we had a lot of money talks. There was a ton of miscommunication and chaos on who spends what money where, how much, and why… It was so stressful! Simply communicating was half the battle. It took up so much valuable family time.
But ever since we got the app, we barely need to talk about money at all. We both know what was spent, where, and why. We know where all the money is going. We can communicate SO much better about things. Communication is vital to a happy marriage! It helped us focus on getting out of debt and saving up our emergency fund.
Finally, I could spend my limited time with my husband doing other things we love together. Our life doesn’t revolve around the budget anymore. It takes barely 20 minutes a month to do the budget.
Plus, worry likes to thrive like algae in a pond. Where there’s no action or knowledge, you fall prey to the unknown as you try endlessly to figure the situation out. How much money do we have? Where’s it all going? How will we fix it? Will we have enough to pay bills?
With EveryDollar, there’s no need to worry. I KNOW how much we have. If we run out, I KNOW exactly how much I need to make to pay bills. I can do a side hustle or something and just focus on providing for my family. There’s no time to worry. When I know exactly what’s going on, I’m all action.
